We are a diverse team of Engineers (Frontend, Backend and Data Science) from six different nations. As our team not only consists of Dusseldorf-based engineers we are working fully remote, though we still meet in the office for company meetings, brainstorming sessions and team events. It is thus not required to live in Dusseldorf or nearby, we are happy to collaborate with colleagues from all around the world.

YOUR MISSION
Our dev team is fully remote, with engineers working from various locations across Germany. Düsseldorf is our HQ, we meet regularly for brainstorming sessions, workshops and team events. Joining Metalshub means contributing to a diverse and ambitious team dedicated to revolutionizing an entire industry. You will be equipped with an Apple Silicon MacBook Pro and you can freely choose your IDE (e.g. VSCode, PyCharm) and preferred tools.
Your New Team
You’ll join a squad of engineers working cross-functionally to digitalize and optimize the metals and mining industry ????. Our squad-based, Scrum-driven approach allows us to focus on impact, collaboration, and growth. You’ll work closely with frontend engineers, QA specialists, product owners and designers, transforming complex business needs into scalable technical solutions.
Your Tasks:
- Envision and implement backend components for our platform using Python, Django, Django REST Framework (DRF), and celery.
Drive decision-making to quickly achieve outcomes aligned with our product vision.
Actively participate in the full product development lifecycle, collaborating with frontend engineers, QA, and product managers to turn complex ideas into technical solutions.
Perform code reviews to ensure best practices and contribute to a rich documentation base.

YOUR SKILLSET
You'll bring:
Experience in a product-based environment where you’ve seen codebases evolve over time.
At least 4 years of hands-on development experience, specifically with Python and Django.
Strong command of Django REST Framework (DRF) and SQL.
Familiarity with Scrum and effective team collaboration.
Proactive problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
Experience in writing tests.

Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, Docker, Flask, and FastAPI.
